Alaska Day 24 To Anchorage

The drive was only 32 miles to Fort Richardson. Carol drove the car over to base and checked into the campground ahead of me.  When I arrived all I had to do was drive into the site.  It was strange driving in traffic. We got our same site that we got two years ago. We knew getting our satellite internet was real good and we did get it. so, for $21 we got full hook with two 30 AMP plugs. Water pressure is real good.  I washed the Beast and that took about 3 hours. It was pretty dirty/dusty.  I still got to vacuum most of the compartments because of the fine dust that got in them. The sights are all pull thrus and arranged pretty neat. All sights face towards the woods.DSC_0001

We invited Don & Sharon over for diner. It was a few days before their 3rd Anniversary. We fixed them a nice steak (warmed/raw) diner. We sat outside for awhile and they got to meet our dumb and young birds. We got these six birds that are evidently very young and are learning to fly among other things.  It’s fun watching them fly and then land carelessly.

Larry & Marilyn will be coming on to base tomorrow.  No one else wanted to for various reasons.

I talked to Jean and they will be on the road tomorrow, Thursday. They got their air bag and slide out fixed in Valdez.  They will be staying in Palmer with Gary & Mary at the Homestead Passport America Park.  Not sure where Jim & Pat are. This is loosey goosey – everyone doing their own thing for various reasons.

Tomorrow we head for Anchorage which is about 5 miles or so via car.

Miles today 32

Total miles since lower U.S. Border 2850

Average miles per gallon for trip 6.3
