One More Time

We decided that we would leave the back seat of the Jeep at North Ranch when we get there in 10 days or so.  This morning I decided to try several different locations with the seat.  First I took it out with Carol’s help.  I rearranged several compartments in the Beast.  Carol didn’t think it would fit.  It fit perfect on the slide out but I didn’t like it.  We moved it back into the Jeep.  I then decided to fold it and strap it to one side of the back area of the Jeep.  I liked it and Carol liked it.  Now we can put stuff in the back of the Jeep without the hassle of moving the front seat.  We only had a rear small seat to put stuff on like groceries. Or open the back door and we would only have a small area for stuff.  Now we have all sorts of room.  The Honda element had the option of folding the rear seats up (2) and putting them on each side of the rear side windows.  The Jeep is OK but not as neat as the Element.DSCN0701

I also got Carol a grab handle that she wanted  and installed it.DSCN0702

One more time I dusted down the Beast, The Jeep and the Razor since I didn’t do it yesterday.  It took about a half hour.  I tried doing the wheels but they have to be cleaned with a damp/dry micro cloth maybe tomorrow.  Later it looked like it was going to pour down again but it didn’t.DSCN0703

The kitty was on a mission…..DSCN0705 DSCN0706

Here’s Allen fixing/cleaning his two Razor’s.DSCN0704

It’s a small world.  Bob Pinner’s brother owns the glass repair shop we are going to Thursday.  Bob & Molly are friends of ours and we didn’t even know he had a brother much less here in Cottonwood much less in glass replacement (Akiva Glass).  It really is a small world.  Bob & Molly are going to Alaska with us all in 2014.

See ya…..

To See Or Not To See or Who’s Crack

The Jeep is just barely a month old and it’s taking a beating.  The windshield cracked from that little rock chip I got the other day.  Plus it was parked when it cracked.  I think the heat made it give way.  Here’s the kicker.  I called GEICO to get it repaired.  They said I didn’t have windshield coverage ($100 deductible).   like on the motorhome (used it last year).  The Jeep only had the normal $500 deductible with the comprehensible.  They basically said too bad that it was…it don’t matter..they just said to have a nice day.   To replace it with a non Mopar windshield it was $330.  A MoPar Jeep windshield was $721. We talked awhile and we’re getting the non MoPar windshield plus all the windows tinted (except the windshield) for $400 out the door.  We will get the side long windows limo (dark) tinted and the doors and rear windows medium tinted.  What the hell!  It’s scheduled for Thursday.  It’s a big crack as you can see.  Have you seen a bigger crack lately…….smile…DSCN0693

Carol wanted to go to this hippie shop in nearby Clarksdale so why not?  It’s been a few years.DSCN0694

It had the peace signs, tie dye clothing and old records, beads, incense, etc.  It also had a lot of pipes and bongs.  I thought that stuff was illegal to have much less to sell.  I guess in AZ it’s OK.

Then we went here….DSCN0695

This place was so cool.  It had a lot of neat old “stuff”.DSCN0696 DSCN0697 DSCN0698 DSCN0699 DSCN0700

Plus they had a lot of “stuff” inside.  We will be back when we get some money.

It rained again yesterday evening.  All the vehicles were dirty again.  The splashing of the rain on the ground in the dirt to the side of the vehicles is getting old.  I decided not to clean them again.  You know it didn’t rain at all today.  I will clean them tomorrow.

See ya….Dennis

Nice ATV Trail – No Jeeps, Too Small

Today’s ATV trip was about 3 hours and they’re were 6 ATV’s.  The trail was about a 4 (scale 1-10 best) for difficulty and a 6 or 7 for fun.  It had sharp turns, it was very narrow in a lot of spots (no jeeps here) and a couple of steep hills – it was fun.  Round them up…DSCN0673

Which way do we goDSCN0674

See my antennae.  It later got broken while it was stored away.  It got pretty tight.  Carol is still collecting rocks.DSCN0675

Allen developed a slow leak (in his tire not his body!).  Later we found out that he tore a hole in is sidewall.  He also had an over heat problem (Razor).  Later towards the end he encouraged us to go ahead without him.  Another Razor stayed with him.  He came in about 2 hours after us.DSCN0678

Several pooh experts said this was bear scat.DSCN0682

The other 08 Razor like ours.  That’s Allen’s wife with a friend.  Allen has a 2011 Razor.  His and hers Razors.DSCN0683 DSCN0684 DSCN0685

We got back and I decided to clean the Razor.  I used Pledge.  It works great. It turns the gray plastic black like new.  It does good on the paint too.  Scratches old and new are almost all gone.DSCN0686

Then I decided to wipe down the Beast and The Jeep again.DSCN0691

All three are clean and shiny again.  Yes, it friggin rained again.  It was a monsoon again for about an hour starting about 6 PM or so, just like the previous days.DSCN0689

Before that rain I moved & fixed my antennae that was snapped off from it’s previous set up.  I took an air line connection (male/female) and a little JB Weld and it works fine.  I can disconnect the antennae like a airline whenever I need to.DSCN0687

It was another good day.

This & That

We decided to pick up our mail today in
Cottonwood.  Of course we had to go to George’s for breakfast.  It’s turning into our favorite breakfast place.  Then after the post office it was time to wash the Jeep.  A buck 75 and 4 minutes and it’s done…almost.  We we got back to the beast and I wiped the Jeep down due to water spots.  We got our new license plates so we are officially un-new due to no temp plates.DSCN0660

It took me most of this to get the old temp plate off and the new ones on…gas was the last resort but it didn’t get to that point.DSCN0667

I checked the sidewalls of the trailer tires and they say 90 PSI is max.  Wow, I checked them when we bought it and they had 65 PSI and I figured that was plenty.  I pumped them up to 85 PSI.  That along with the Jeep tires up from 28 to 35 PSI might take some of that wag out of the trailer going down the road..DSCN0663

Since I had the compressor out I went ahead and aired up the Beast’s tires up.  They needed about 5 lbs each.  The major temp change since April made it necessary.

This is a Sears air compressor ($100).  I’ve had several compressors and this seems to be the best for me.  I usually burn them up or they won’t pump up much pass 80 PSI.  I can get this one to pump these big tires up to 117 PSI in the front.   It says it can pump 150 PSI.  Yea, an inner tube for swimming.DSCN0651

When Carol isn’t hanging the laundry outDSCN0657

she or should I say Lucy II, has started collecting rocks.  DSCN0670 We got the space and can carry the weight.  Go for it.  Speaking of Lucy, if you haven’t seen The Long Long Trailer lately it might be a good time to watch it for some real laughs.

Opps..forgot one…DSCN0665

At noon it hadn’t broke into the 90s yet. The humidity was high due to the recent rain so it was muggy as hell.  I really don’t know if hell is muggy at least not yet.

Batteries are next…maybe tomorrow.DSCN0668

Our kitty said it was about time to catch a nap.DSCN0671 DSCN0672

I cooked dinner on the grill to include corn on the cob.  I finished up about 5:30 PM.  On the NEWS it said monsoon rains and low and behold it poured down.  We even got a small stream running behind us.  the weather forecast is more isolated monsoon rains for the next three days.DSC_0013

It stopped about 9 PM and then it got real muggy.  Good thing the park maintenance guy fixed our leaky  water spigot earlier.

Let’s Go Up The Hill

We met some ATVers; Allen & Janice, Manny & Fran and their grand daughter, along with others in the park.  Two were over 80 years old but had other things to do today.  Yes they had Razors and rode them often.  We, (4 ATVs) left the park and went up a hill.  On a 1 to 10 ten being the most difficult I would say it was a 2 with a few fives in the run.  It took us about 3 hours.  Allen & Janice each had a Razor and Manny & Fran had a Polaris work ATV.  These were all side by sides.  Let’s go riding…..we went up a hill to a mine.

Fran said, “Not me!”DSCN0625 DSCN0626 DSCN0628 DSCN0629
