Alaska Hwy Day 4

Just another day at the Liard Hot Springs (2 nights).

I worked on our jello schedule for Friday, Saturday & Sunday.  130 miles to Watson Lake, probably two nights. Then the next day 135 miles to Teslin and Monday 110 miles to Whitehorse. Each stop has special things of interest or memories from our past.  In Whitehorse we will probably spend two nights.  There we will decide if Carol & I are hanging a right and going north to Dawson City (Top Of The world Hwy) or straight towards Tok.  The others ????Stay tuned for details.

Here’s Gary & Mary on their way to soak in the Hotsprings.  By the way it was in the 40s last night and at 9 AM it was 51 degrees and sunny. DSC_0001

Here’s the road leaving the Hotsprings. That’s a lodge, campground, gas pumps in the far left corner. Fuel was $7.22 a gallon. They don’t get any business there. DSC_0002

These roads are rough thus tires with less than 1/3 of their tread should not be tried to make the long trip. They just can’t take the rough roads.DSC_0003

This is the large lot across the street from the Hotsprings.  No signs up about paying.DSC_0004

You can pull into the park next to the walkway to the Hotsprings for $10 a vehicle (including tow behind). There’s a lot more room than shown in this picture.DSC_0005

No change…Miles today  0   Total miles 1221    Total Food $161     Total Fuel $468   Total Fun $priceless     Total Kamping $204.  All since crossing the border at Sweetgrass, MT on May 9, 2011.

See ya……
