Today we head for Kenai (city) area. Then Friday we catch a floatplane to…….well, over there. No cruise ship tourists here at all! Their are 7 us going. We are going bear viewing like you see on National Geographic. The big brown bears feasting on fish on the waterfalls and all that stuff.
Books Falls is well regulated by the Katmai National Park and that is where we are headed. We got all of our cameras, lens (up to 500 MM)poles, stands (mono/tri), SD discs that I could find. I even got a mini Memorex camcorder out of moth balls. All batteries are charged and ready. Saturday I should be able to put some of my best pictures on the blog. This is right up there with Eagle viewing but harder. Oh yea, that happens next week (again).
125 miles south to the launching area. Along the way…
Fred Meyers parking lot is a zoo……
Butch/Kathy to the left, Ed/Sandy and us to the right at the airfield parking lot.
We’re taking one of these floatplanes tomorrow…
So…see ya…….
