Alaska Day 15 to Gerstle River

Today 7 June we traveled 80 miles to a spot we call the Bridge.  It sets on the Gerstle River at the bridge.  Nice large open gravel area.  The turn is just about 100 yards before the bridge on the right as you head north towards Fairbanks.  It is not marked.

The road was nice and we saw one moose (no pic).  Here is the road out of Tok.DSC_0001

Then on down the road.DSC_0002

Us guys went 4 wheeling in the river…yes we did…the water was shallow in some areas and we crossed.  We had one little part to get all the way cross but didn’t try it.DSC_0007 DSC_0008 DSC_0009

Later that evening Carol & I went driving around in the Jeep just looking… we found this old boy…...DSC_0026 DSC_0027

We also found a place where we got ice cream. DSC_0029

We also found this fire burning in the interior of Alaska. The smoke might be a problem later on but not the fire itself.DSC_0030 DSC_0037 DSC_0039

We also found the Alaskan Pipeline.DSC_0038
