Alaska Day 11 Towards Tok

Cloudy and overcast with rain expected.  We left Pioneer RV Pk in Whitehorse about 8 AM.  Traffic was heavy around Whitehorse.  After that it was just about nonexistent.

About 200 miles into our 250 trip the roads got terrible.  This was common along with a lot of rough repair patches from side to side.  Our speeds got down to 10 MPH in a few spots.   An idiot driver of a class C actually passed us all and when he came by me his right front tire left the ground about 6 inches.  Hey, you can’t fix stupid but the mechanic will fix the results eventually.   DSC_0005-001

The scenery was beautiful….DSC_0013-002 DSC_0018-001 DSC_0028 DSC_0036 DSC_0056 DSC_0057 DSC_0065

We got to the Discovery Yukon RV Park about 1:30 PM.  FHU was $37 (30 AMP).  Carol & I chose no hook ups and it was $21.  Eight batteries and 5 solar panels we might as well use them. Tomorrow (Wed) we plan to drive the 140 miles to Tok.  Eat at Fast Eddies, make a few phone calls, check out the post office, call for our mail, etc…..  then drive 12 miles east back to Taylor Hwy north and head north towards Chicken.  Or stay a night in Tok?  Anyhow, Before Chicken and still on paved road is West Fork Campground (BLM?).  We will stay there and do the tourist thing for Chicken, Eagle and maybe Dawson Creek for 3-5 nights.  Then back to Tok.

See ya…….
