Day 50

Well, we, Carol & I got up so we can be at the vet at 0800.  Then the cat was acting normal.  We decided to go on.  Maybe she heard Vet and faked being good.

Here’s some pictures from the day before:DSC_0001

Boone spaces…DSC_0003Boone area…..DSC_0004Then Carol saw it.  It was a 1992 Patriot Thunder 505  3 slide and so on!!!!!!!!!!!DSC_0005

Here we have left and driving down the road a few miles……DSC_0013DSC_0014DSC_0016DSC_0017DSC_0020DSC_0019DSC_0022DSC_0024DSC_0027DSC_0031DSC_0029DSC_0030DSC_0033

Yes, EW for $14 a night plus this hutch and table.  We were here about 2 months ago on the way up.  We even got the same spot.DSC_0034

Is that a Mr Sippy he’s drinking from?  He made one good dinner tonight, enchiladas.  Great cook.DSC_0035

Day 49

I got up and turned on the TV.  Yep, we got all the TV national channels.  Just no guide.  That was a little different for us.  I watched the CBS News Sunday.  That was cool.  Speaking of cool it’s 65 degrees in and out.

Believe this?  She normally says she’s on vacation .DSC_0002

For lunch we went to Mimi’s CafĂ©.  We had a large coupon thanks to Mary Dennis from the Baltimore, MD area.  She couldn’t use it.  It was among the best lunch we (3) ever had.

On the way back we did some shopping for a BBQ gas portable grill.  We ended up at Lowe’s after Home Depot and Walmart.  Kraig agreed to put it together when we got back to the camper.

Here’s the put together person.  He even read the instructions when he got stuck.DSC_0004

Damn, it don’t have a drip tray.  If you camp and cook out a lot you know it’s a lot easier to clean with a drip tray.  Yes, it went back.  Oh, I threw our other one away when I tried to wash it at a car wash.  It didn’t work and I got grease on one side of the Jeep.  No, it wouldn’t wash off.

Then we went back to our original Walmart and got a Weber 1200 with a drip tray and it was basically together.DSC_0006

It got up to 85 degrees today with a light breeze.  That was nice.

Then there is this guy who parked next to us and not in his site. He has a large space in front of his rig and even a parking space behind.  We had a few words exchange about it.  He will be turned in Monday to the host and they can deal with the inconsiderate idiot. DSC_0007

Carol and I walked around the park.  Then Carol saw it.  A 2004 Patriot Thunder (505 HP)three slides.  We tajlked to the owners and they just started Full Timing a month ago.  They got a surprise when we said we just finished over 18 years of Full Timing.  Great to talk to fellow RVers.

Well, the cat is doing better and so am I.  Tomorrow we will go to the vet (for the cat).  The vet will determine if we leave or stay.

Retirement is just keep on going.

Day 48

Last night I got a little sick but A OK this morning.  The cat continues to be sick in the morning.  NO we are not suffering from the same thing even though it appears the same.  The vet isn’t open till Monday.  I guess we are staying a little longer to find out what’s wrong with the cat not me.

Tried to clean the portable gas grill at the car wash.  That don’t work.  Had grease on one side of the Jeep.  Anyhow, I threw the grill in the dumpster and washed the Jeep.  Nope the grease didn’t come off the Jeep.  That means had wash the Jeep tomorrow, maybe.

Not much happened during the day.  We got a pop up with several kids on one side of us.  The other side is a tenter that is only there to sleep.  He stays out very late.  You know like a youngin.

Retirement is getting old……er.

Day 47

We’re moving down South to the Kirkland AFB.  Mark is only going about 20 miles and going to boone.

We have about 140 miles to go there.  Pictures are plentiful.DSC_0002DSC_0003DSC_0004DSC_0006DSC_0009DSC_0010DSC_0014DSC_0015DSC_0016DSC_0018DSC_0019

We arrived around noon to Kirkland AFB.  We got a FHU (much needed) for $18.  Two nights here.DSC_0020

They have WiFi here so we lost Kraig.  Carol did the laundry and I slept.

Later Carol fixed us diner then we watched some local TV on the antennae.

Retirement is having no required schedule by others.

Day 46

It was a light rain when I got up.  I turned on the heater and some lights about 7:30 AM.

Of course I got the dry heaves again (short).  I guess it’s ????  We all can’t figure it out.  Old body can’t take this kind of living I guess.

Retirement is unknown diseases become known.

Day 45

Up, down and sideways.  We actually thought about Branson.  I did a schedule of the route and everything.

Mark, Carol, Kraig and I took the Jeep into Taos for lunch and sight see.  We didn’t know which restaurant to choose.  So the place with the most vehicles in the parking lot won.  It turned out these restaurant people once had a real good food truck and now have a restaurant.  It was pretty dog on good but don't ask us the name of it.

We went to Walmart and then Albertsons and back to our camper site in the mountains which is about 30 miles away.

We got back and rested (nap).  That evening we all played Sorry outside and even in the dark.  We had a LED hat light and we played some more.  Then a pick up truck joined the outskirts of our camping area.  Oh well, they were quiet and we were the noisy ones but not from drinking, just fun and laughing.

While we played the ending of the last game the wind kicked up and it started to drizzle hard.  We put everything away and we were in bed by 8:30 PM.

Oh yea, we decided to aim for Texas and not Branson but not in a hurry.  Too hot and humid, plus rain for a projected week forecasted for Livingston.

All is quiet except for the constant light rain all night long.

Retirement is not doing anything sometimes.

Day 44

Up and then going and eating breakfast here…  It was good and highly recommend it for any meal.  Tres Piedras is a very small community.   The community is so old, run down and so small that we went thru here and didn’t see this large building.  Stop for a meal and wow was it good.

DSC_0003

Kraig was real excited waiting a long time for the food.DSC_0004

Across the street has come and gone.DSC_0005

Back at the camper Kraig needed a nap.DSC_0006

Here Mark just finished temporary fixing the cat tent with some bailing wire and a Dremel.DSC_0008

After Kraig fixed us some tacos we played the game Sorry outside at dark.   The four of us had some laughs and even said Sorry with a smile.

All is quiet and Sorry.

Retirement is not saying sorry.

Day 43

It took over 15 minutes to send Day 42 blog out over the internet. Oh well, it went, I saw it afterwards to make sure. Blah, blah, blah.

DSC_0001

We ate breakfast then later we headed for the Taos Mesa Brewery in Taos.  DSC_0036DSC_0040DSC_0041DSC_0046DSC_0047Well, they open at 12:00 (now 11:00) and the were cleaning their tanks and were closed for the days.  Oh well.

We headed in town for lunch.DSC_0057DSC_0075DSC_0061DSC_0066DSC_0062

Retirement is doing what others want.
