Alaska Day 56 Healy to Denali Nat Park

We had about a 12 mile drive to Riley Campground inside Denali Nat Park.DSC_0117DSC_0104

No hook ups and water/dump is available (free).  Generator hours are 8AM -10 AM and 4 PM – 8 PM. It’s the biggest of their campgrounds (153 sites) and it is packed full.  Very spacious sites tucked in the woods. We got sun for our solars and even got a clear shot for our internet satellite. They divide the sites into A’s & B’s.  B’s are 30 foot and less RV’s and the A’s are 31 to 40 feet. Yes we cut off 3 feet of our rig and it fit fine.  Almost all of the A’s will take 43 footers.  I reserved for a A’ site because we have a 40’.  Plenty of room. DSC_0100 DSC_0101

Today was Orientation Day for us. We rode the shuttle bus to the visitor center. DSC_0105 DSC_0106 DSC_0108There we picked up information papers and such.  Toured the immediate area. We caught the shuttle bus back to the campground.  Now we know where to catch the shuttle to go and catch our 66 mile bus.

Now it’s social time back at the campground. Larry & Marilyn invited their neighbors Rod & Kathryn to join us. Their in there somewhere.DSC_0120 DSC_0119

Earlier that day I snapped a picture of Sharon & Mary doing a little crocheting.  It was a challenge to see if I could adjust the camera to focus on them rather than all the other things around.DSC_0118

We had left over “stuff” for diner and went for a nice walk to end the evening.

See ya…….
