Alaska Day 8 to Whitehorse via Carcross

Only 125 miles to go today.  We turned off the AlCan Hwy and headed south to Carcross.  It’s not out of the way that much and it’s an adventure.  DSC_0003 DSC_0017 DSC_0019

Alaska Day 7 to Teslin

We started off today at Kathy’s Diner here in Watson Lake with friends.  DSC_0026  Carol & I shared a breakfast.  This is one breakfast special on two plates with a coffee for $12.95.  DSC_0027These people must be from Texas because it was big.

The weather has been great lately.  High’s in the 70’s and last night it did get down to 40 degrees.  It’s been awhile since the “Baby” been’s washed and it is pretty dirty with a capital D.   I will wash it when we get to Whitehorse.

We emptied our tanks, filled up with water, packed up and moved over to Sign Post City for the putting up the Loosey Goosey Sign at high noon.  Low and be hold who were there but the Pinners Escapade Gang.  The Loosey Goosey Group are just about all here.DSC_0040 DSC_0041

People wanted a picture of me & Carol so we gave them one!DSC_0059

Then on down the road with everybody going into different groups and doing different things.  Our group of 3 rigs went on up the road with another 3 a few miles back.DSC_0022-001 DSC_0028-001 DSC_0036-001 DSC_0038-001 DSC_0042-001 DSC_0046-001 DSC_0055-001

It was Ed’s birthday so we wasted some cheap cards and unique presents on him.  DSC_0087

Here’s our site in Teslin Provincial Park, no hook up and $12 a night.  There’s 6 of us (Loosey Goosey RVs) in here.DSC_0103

Everybody's plans have changed so we changed our too!  We’re not going to Skagway via RV but rather by passenger ferry from Haines.  First will be Carcross then up to Whitehorse then Haines.  Flexibility is the name of the game.  It brightens up the adventure.

Alaska Day 6 to Watson Lake

Today we went 131 miles towards Watson Lake City which is also know as Sign Post City.  Along the way I got diesel 85 gallons at 5.44 a gallon ($1.42 a liter).  We saw some animals for sure…DSC_0002 DSC_0005 DSC_0032 DSC_0038 DSC_0049 DSC_0052 DSC_0054 DSC_0061DSC_0014-001

We’re all at Downtown RV Pk at $38.50 back in full hook up (30 AMP).  Drive thru is $5 more.  It’s a rip and won’t stop here again.  At present, it’s the only park in town.  Some people are staying two nights and some three nights.  We’re gone tomorrow…Loosey Goosey.DSC_0013-001  DSC_0020 DSC_0021-001

Tomorrow we will see what’s going on.  The group is starting to sprout wings and some are doing there own thing which is great.  That’s the purpose of the Loosey Goosey Group – do your own thing when and where you want.
