Full Timing & Pets

Pets on the road full time.  Should you have them or not?  That is like saying which is better a fifth wheel or motorhome and then you get into the size. That’s what it is like with animals.  Some people will say yes and some will say no.  Then you get into a dog is better or a cat or a mix of the two.  For us it’s a mix.  One small dog and two cats.  One cat adopted us at the Escapees Rainbow End in Livingston. The dog and the other cat was my Mom’s and were inherited.  The disadvantage of having a dog is you have to make sure the thing goes out to do their business at least twice a day and better off doing it 3 or 4 times.  That means no long day trips for sure.  Cats you can actually leave for a couple of days if you have their food, water and kitty litter for them.  We prefer cats because they are more independent.  They don’t need that special pat on the head every time you turn around.  Cats can be more destructive with their claws more than dogs usually.  Both are entertaining on rainy days for sure.  Then you get into their care and all that stuff.  Full timing with pets can be a pain but it boils down to what you want.  If you want a pet – great.  If not – OK.  What ever you desire and are willing to do for one when you go down that road.

We went to Home Depot today because I wanted to get some blocks for our jacks.  I usually get a 8X10 pine board and have them cut it in about 12” lengths. We know the grounds at the CamPlex in Gillette can be uneven so I got the boards.  Hey, for 8 bucks what the hell.  I prefer not to stretch the springs on the jacks that long (2 weeks) if possible.  I will use blocks in the worst case scenario on one side. Our jacks have very large pads so we don’t have to worry about sinking into the ground that often.

After that we stopped at a place called the Big R which is a farmer type store.  We bough two cat beds.  Cats are like kids you can’t just buy one thing for them so we got two.

We then went to the Salvation Army.  We like looking at “stuff”.  We found a thing that could be a cat bed and it was neat looking.  Our two cats now have 4 beds between them.  You know they still fight over them. Our one cat patches thinks all the beds belong to her.  The other cat Rainbow doesn’t care which one she sleeps in.

Patches…she likes to stretch out.DSC_0029 DSC_0030 DSC_0031

Carol likes feeding the birds.  I get to clean up the poo they leave all over our outside “stuff”.DSC_0017 DSC_0020

Our little green man is ready to go even if it’s by boat.DSC_0024
