Carol & I left Liard Hotsprings a little after 7 AM. We wanted to catch a glimpse of some morning animals and did we. The best so far was a grizzly. Wow…..no pic of that hunk…but…
Fire in 2009….we were by here then…..
We are in Watson Lake next to the Signpost Forest behind the Tags gas station. Everybody filled up with fuel. It’s cheaper in the Yukon than BC. Diesel was equal to $5.45 after you convert the liters and dollars over. I last got fuel in Alberta (659 miles) and took about 111 gallons this time. The Tags campground was = to $28 US dollars and we all are staying two nights.
We ALL helped ourselves to a couple of RV sights for our 4 o’clock.
Then a Good Sam Rep recommended a restaurant down the road about 15 miles. What the hell. Look out..vehicles full of hungry Escapees……
The first shock was the much over priced menu even for the Yukon. The second was the food – PP…
This snow cat wouldn’t even eat here.
The back of their door to the gift shop was outstanding.
Here’s someone making me the number one driver again.
This is the the place we had to finance our bill. They also have a over priced good sam RV park. WE will never even give it a second chance. Rip off restaurant is what they should call it…..that’s sad…..hey – life goes on for them with a little of our money – 1 time.
All amounts converted to US measures & dollars and since crossing the border at Sweetgrass, MT on May 9, 2011. Yes, I will make mistakes – oh well..no need to write.
Miles today 130 Total miles 1351 Total Food $203 Total Fuel $1080 Total Fun $priceless Total Kamping $258.
