Alaska Day 44 To Talkeetna

It rained most of last night like the hippy dippy weatherman said.  We dumped and filled with fresh water.  I also had to wash the mud we got in several external/open compartments.  One was the LP tank compartment, DSC_0024 another was the DEF compartment and the last one was what I call the muffler compartment.  These places need to be kept reasonably clean to fill the necessary tank or change a fuse.  It only took about a minute for each one using the non-potable water spigot at the dump station.  Mean while I was also filling the fresh water tank and dumping the holding tanks.  I was a busy little (big) beaver.

Well, 145 miles and no Mt McKinley.   DSC_0039 DSC_0041 DSC_0045 DSC_0046 We stopped at several rest areas that said you could see the great mountain but it wasn’t the best weather.  In the last 5 miles the mountain peaked it’s top out.  Not the best of pictures but we got it.DSC_0052 DSC_0053

We arrived at Talkeetna Camper Park about noon.  DSC_0055It was $35 for electric/water.   Several Loosey Goosey members arrived here a day or two earlier for various reasons.  Some have a jet boat ride today and our group have it tomorrow.

We walked around town… DSC_0057 DSC_0060 DSC_0062
