The blogs for this past Sunday & Monday were a diversion (lie). We left Fresno, California 8:30 AM Sunday. We arrived Sedalia, MO Tuesday 12:30 PM Tuesday. We are not in the mountains of California. SURPRIZE !!!! We drove 700 miles Sunday, 800 miles Monday and 350 miles Tuesday. Newmar agreed to pay for our fuel to Indiana. We agreed to have it done 1 October. This all happened the tail end of last week. Soooooooooo why not surprise our friends at the Escapade. The drive was well worth seeing many friends.
We headed south on route 99 to route 58 to Interstate 15 to Interstate 70 basically.
Altitude - 1,300 feet in the mountains near Vail, CO. It snowed the night before and it was on the sides of the road in some areas. The daytime temps were in the low 40s. Yea we got out of that heat.
We got to Sedalia, Mo at the Escapade and Art, Head of Security, was among the first to greet us. The most common expression was, “What the hell!”.
We pulled it off. Nobody here knew we were coming and surprised everyone. The friends we saw were worth the exhausting but beautiful drive. Some things you just gotta do and this was one of them. Even Carol said it was worth the drive. Thanks to Jon & Sue Glick back in California for not letting the cat out of the bag. We can’t even start to name all the good friends here at one place. It felt good! We finished up the night at a warm campfire and with a chili night. I was shaking from the cold so bad during the evening and Bob Pinner felt sorry for me. He lent me one of his jackets to keep warm. Marilyn Forbes lent one to Carol. Late in the evening (8 PM or so) the numbers dwindled down.
Towards the end of the evening, Bud was wondering what the girls were getting him into.
Wow, wow, wow, wow & wow………..
Se ya……. wow…….
