Hold On – One More Time…

OK, I got back to Livingston, TX with the New used “little” RV.  No problems.  Will there was one but that’s another story I'll tell later when we get back to Livingston, TX.  It has to go into the repair shop.  Think about that.

Now it’s time to get back to Baltimore with Carol’s brother’s (Steven) car.  It’s 1,380 miles.  I leave Livingston 8 AM yesterday (Tues) morning Eastern time.  I arrived back in Baltimore (Columbia) 8 AM Eastern time.  That was a piece of cake.  An old moldy one.  You do the math.  I’m too tired.

Almost Done - - Again

Since 13 Sept to yesterday I have driven 4,700 miles in various vehicles and configurations.  During this time I sold or traded all MY toys (Jeep, Harley trike and trailer).  I still got another 1,400 miles to Baltimore.  Then drive the Journey (& Carol riding along now) back to Livingston for another 1,400 miles.  Grand total of 7,500 miles in about a month in 16 different states I think.  AND no Dr’s, ER’s or hospitals on this adventure.

I have (really we) one toy now.  It’s a 2014 Coachmen 22 QB Freelander that measures a little over 24 feet.  It’s on a Ford E-350 Super Duty chassis with a V10.  It has a net carry capacity of 2, 000 lbs, 55 gal fuel tank, 50 fresh water with black & grey tanks total of 60 gallons for them two.  It also has a 4K Onan generator.  Wait, there’s more…..nah.  It’s just a simple class C for camping not living in.  It will go into places that none of our other RVs could go.  This could open up a new adventure for us.  So on, so on, so on and so on….

I left Denny & Susie’s place Saturday.   My next place to visit was……   Now that’s just great.  Now which way…..

Yes I Did

I’m now in Congress, AZ at Denny & Susie’s place at the Escapees RV Park.  I arrived yesterday (Thurs) after leaving Tucson.  At Tucson I stayed next to Don & Sharon at Davis Monthan AFB.  As of Wed I have no Jeep or Harley trike but still have the motorcycle trailer (4 sale).  I needed something to pull the empty trailer around so I bought a class C.  Yes I did.  It’s a 2014 Coachmen 22QB (24 ft).   It’s a short vacation rig for us.  Plus, we will be taking it to Alaska in 2017.  The big rig will continue to be our home.

Now which way do I go to get back to Livingston?  I got to get it back there and pick up my brother in laws Ford Explorer.  I will then leave the Class C in Livingston and drive the Explorer to Baltimore to be back with my number one poopsy.

I think I will go north from here…..

Which Way Now?

Today (Mon) I will find out which way I go.  Do I head East or West or maybe even North?  Who’s given me all these opportunities and why?  Who’s in control?  I’ve driven 3,600 miles so far on this adventure.  It could go an additional 4,200 within the next 2 weeks.  The most important question is why?  Stay tuned……………….

RVing Without An RV

I left Baltimore 9 Sept (Wed AM) using my brother in law’s Ford Explorer towing my motorcycle/trailer.  I arrived in Livingston, TX on 10 Sept (Thur AM) 1,400 miles done.  Yes, it can be done and was.  I left Livingston on 13 Sept (Sun AM) now driving our Jeep and towing the motorcycle/trailer.  I arrived in Tucson on 14 Sept (Mon AM) 1,100 miles.  I left Tucson 15 Sept (Tues PM) in the Jeep towing the motorcycle/trailer for Livingston again.  I arrived in Livingston on 16 Sept (Wed PM) 1,100 miles again.  It’s now Sat and I’m still in Livingston.  Why haven’t I left Livingston for Balto.  My body said, NO!  Why am I driving all these miles? Stay tuned for the “rest of the story” as Paul Harvey use to say.

Carol is staying in Balto with her brother in our RV while I go drive the U.S.A. looking for….?

Hold On

I drove a car from Balto, MD to Livingston, TX, (1,400 miles) this past week.  I had an early breakfast in Balto Wed morning (4 AM) and had breakfast in Livingston the next day (28 hrs).  I set a new record for myself of miles in a 24 hour period.  My new record is 1,125 miles and probably my last due to age. 

Tomorrow (Sun) I leave for Tucson which is about 1,100 miles.  Since I got reservations at a hotel Monday night (check in after 2 PM), I will take it easy.  Plus' I’ve been towing my trailer/trike behind my brother in law’s Explorer and now a Jeep tomorrow.

Carol didn’t want to make the trip in this short time frame and preferred to stay with her Mom in Balto. 

Why am I doing all this you ask, stay tuned……..

No More Intercourse

We leave Friday morning for Baltimore. We had enough Intercourse.

Roads around these tourist places are very very very crowded.  Reminds me of Branson.  Anyhow, it still has its appeal of course.

They grow a lot of corn around here but the cost is 50 cents an ear.  Sorry, that’s too much.  Feed it all to the cows I say.

Oh No, Bought Another RV

Well, I left a deposit with Lazydays Tucson via phone on a used Class C 2014 Coachmen Freelander 22QB.  It measures 24.5 feet on a Ford 350 chassis with a V10 engine.  Two little old ladies drove it they said… Yea, right!

It took a week and Sharon Del Rosario helped check it out.  Her & Don live in Benson kinda nearby.  Thanks Sharon.   It took some negotiations but I got it for what I wanted to pay today.  I worked on them for about 6 days.  Just maybe that email to the CEO helped.  I got low retail on the Jeep & Harley as trade ins and got $12K off their sale price plus a $1,000 Visa card to pay for my expenses coming out to pick it up.

You are asking why.  Because we can and wanted too.  We (I) wanted a little puddle jumper to go on short trips and Alaska.  I still have my 85 Harley, my new trailer and the old trailer.  We will now pull Carol’s Mercury Mariner that has been set up for towing since new (2010). 

Now how to get my toys to Tucson.  It will work out with a little help from Carol’s brother Steven.

The Journey (Carol’s) is still our home.
