Today started off with a light rain which is good for this area.
We trailered the RVs into the National Forrest. After about an hour of trails we ended up on a big knoll.
Here are the 4X4s about 15 minutes behind us.
Now we are down off the knoll and they are on top.
About an hour later we arrived at Mammoth Caves. Here we are.
Then the 4X4s arrived and we all ate lunch there.
Back on the trails. We came to one intersection and a forest ranger was there. He gave us the latest scoop on the fire. We were near a fire fighter camp so we couldn’t go in that direction.
That’s a piece of ash next to this lizard.
Here’s a beetle trying to make my leg it’s home.
Sue & Jon said the forest trees were very active. One jumped out and bit their truck.
The wind was very strong back at the campground. It looks like the fire is gone from this shot. The wind blew out all of the smoke.
The jeep 4X4 gang had two flats and a scrape. that’s enough of that stuff.
See ya.
