Well, Denny & Susie called me about noon and said let’s go find some dirt back roads. the rest is now history. They found some dirt back roads and some very interesting places. DSC_0005

The scenery was awesome…DSC_0014DSC_0038   DSC_0050  DSC_0057

Next was Sedona…. DSC_0064 DSC_0066 DSC_0068

Then it happened. I went to church.  Since it was built out of rock and on rocks the foundation was sound. The chances of it falling were slim.  Rock of Ages.

The view out of the window was something else.. It’s the guy who invented Laser eye surgery mansion.DSC_0080

For some reason this picture of me reminds me of Jack Nickelson. Maybe it’s the hairdo and dark glasses.DSC_0095

Then I told Denny & Susie about this restaurant that we had ate at with Nick’s gang.  I didn’t want to over rate it to them but I thought it was friggin great and I don’t really like Mexican food. I really don’t like beans and rice but for some reason it’s really good here.  Carol don’t like me eating them either. So we went.DSC_0102

Thumbs up. They said it’s among the best Mexican they ever ate, maybe the best. Of course they just eat at Jack In The Box……NOT!DSC_0101

It’s located near the Western Horizon park Verde Valley on Horseshoe something road just off rt 260. Hey, look it up in your GPS.

So, see ya………

Thank you

When I get comments from my blog, some are emails, I feel very humble.  Some I publish and some ask that I don’t. Some people I know and some I will meet down the road.  Some are famous in the world of RVing which is a surprise to me and some aren’t.  You all are all famous to me because you took a moment to let me share our great Life Style with you.  It might not seem like it at times because of my negative comments about a situation.  I guarantee I wouldn’t change this in it’s worst case scenario for any other lifestyle. That’s a fact Jack!

I thank you very much for your time.

Toady was a this and that day. This hummingbird was about 50 feet away and I took this shot with a 300 mm lens.  It made me think of my big 500 mm lens.DSC_0005

Here’s the difference.  In the middle of this shot across the skyline is a hole.DSC_0011

With the 500 mm lens you can see the difference. These photos have not been blown up.DSC_0006

One 500 mm lens and yes it is heavy.  I named it The Whale in 2009 in Alaska. I got a mono pole for it.  I use it if I know I got to hold it up for any length of time waiting for shot. The camera attaches to the small end and it becomes heavier of course.DSC_0014

I thought I would decorate my yard for the neighborhood.  Plus I need to get those things off the roof so I could clean the car’s roof real good. I’ve been puting the dog po po in that bottom container next to the table. Both neighbors left within three hours today. DSC_0008

Nobody will recognize us in just another white car. The carriage is all ready to pick up my princess this Sunday. (brownie points)DSC_0010

Then it was time to put Aerospace 303 on the tires.  Since these tires only got 6K miles and are 5 years old, I need to put the good ultra light preventative stuff on them.  No cracks what so ever not even fine ones. Then I wiped the wheels clean afterwards.  Maybe I will wax/polish them in the next few days. I need to bucket wash the Beast but keep putting it off.DSC_0009

This cat was snoring as it was sunning. DSC_0013

Do you believe who they kicked off American Idol?  That was the best “good bye” performance of all time. The judges looked stunned!

Credit is Due

I have to give credit where credit is due.  A company has stood up and guaranteed their work at all costs. As you probably know I had problems with my tag axle bearings over heating and actually having a melt down.  This was a result of work done at Redlands Truck & RV in Redlands, CA.  It was their fault and they admitted it from the get go. Two repair shops later the tag axle appears to be repaired properly. Redlands has picked up the bills all the way without even blinking.  Plus they want to pay for a fill up.  I told them I would wait until fuel reached $10 a gallon. It is very evident that these people are serious about keeping their customers happy at all costs.  I’m impressed and as you know that’s hard to do. Yes, I would return to have them do work on the Beast.  Why, because I know they stand behind their work good or bad! They not only talk the talk but walk the walk, rare. 100_0372-1 100_0351-1100_0441 100_0530

Monday Monday

Our cat decided to set on the steering wheel at 3 AM this morning.  Yes, the horn is on the wheel. After two blasts I was out the bed and running up front as she was tooting for the third time.  I didn’t turn on any interior lights so nobody knew it was us.  I didn’t know it at the time but this was a start of a not so good day. I couldn't get back to asleep of course.  I tried to get on the internet for some unknown reason. After  hours of trying to “fix” it I stored the thing for transport.  I’m glad that worked. Then I just reviewed notes about Alaska.

I arrived at the RV dealer that was an authorized Cummins dealer.  I checked this place out the other day and in person. I arrived a half hour early and they took the RV in the back immediately.  There it sat until after 10 AM.  About 11 AM the tech wanted to talk to me.  I figured great. Wrong. He commenced to school me about my fuel mileage.  After a few minutes I asked him what was wrong and he said he couldn’t find anything wrong and I would be charged $100 for the test.  I had a tissy.  The results were that they didn’t have the software to do a complete diagnostic just a fuel mileage check. The test doesn't check components it’s a friggin of how the fuel mileage was attained – it’s a read out only - no testing - worthless in this case. Then I really had a bigger tissy. Bottom line a half day lost, paid the $100 and spent another $100 in fuel.

I get back to my site at the campground and I now have an additional neighbor next to me within three feet of my driver side.  This place is getting empty and these fellow RVers parked right next to my car in the sight.  I got a neighbor on both sides of me with empty sites all over the place.  OK – what ever, I hope they enjoy the smell and noise my Aqua Hot diesel on that side.

Next the datastorm (internet) dish would not come on and go up. I called Steve O’Bosky my “Go To Man”. After several short calls he determined it was my router that died.  I went to Walmart and bought exactly the router he said to buy. I returned back to the Beast. I followed the router’s instructions to the tee and it worked. The dish went up and found the satellite within 5 minutes.  I called Steve back and gave him a big Thank You..

Now it’s about 5 PM and I decided not to do anything of importance due to my bad day and not wanting anything else to be a disaster. It was a quiet evening at that point.

I went to some old pictures and some good and funny memories.DSC_0022
