Non RV Stuff

Let me see what I did.  I played with the tire pressure on the Jeep.  I had a dash sign that said I had low air pressure in one of my tires.  It doesn’t say which one like my Pressure Pro on the Beast.  So this happened going down the road.  I stopped and they LOOKED OK.  Later I checked with an air gauge.  They were all at 30 lbs.  On the driver door it says they should be at 36 lbs.  OK, I broke out our Sears Air Pumper upper.  Of course I didn’t have the right connections.  I had bought a new 50 ft air hose and hadn’t hooked it up yet.  Then I had to go look for the parts to get it connected.  Between the mobile, barn and the Beast I found them and put them on.  OK, now where looking good.  I aired the Jeep tires to the 36 lbs.  We’re not going off road any time soon so the 36 lbs will be fine.  Opps, I filled them up to the 36 lbs but it was that other measurement (Canadaian?) on the new in line air gauge.  So now I had to let air out of the tires.  So, everything is OK finally.  I get in the Jeep and it still says Low Air Pressure.  I drive it around the block and it still says Low Air.  I stepped back from the Jeep.  Then I saw the problem.  Does anyone know?  I'll let you know tomorrow.

Jon Glick come over to see if he could fix my computer.  It’s not letting me log into Coast To Coast.  He tried and tried.  He walked away shaking his head.  See, it’s not just me.

I saw Dave Wilson working on his RV roof.  I thought it was time for me to watch someone else work.  As soon as I got there he stopped working.  That’s not entertaining at all.

I went to Walmart earlier for McDonald’s breakfast inside there.  I had a sausage burrito.  For a buck it fills me up.  I took another one home for tomorrow.  At Walmart I also got some Folgers instant coffee.  I’m OK with instant coffee and I wanted some for my mornings.  I think we got some somewhere but a quick look resulted in couldn’t find it.

So that’s about a day in a non RVers life.  I peddled around in boxes going “Oh Yea!”

I Did What?

I put this chair together that we got down at Lazydays.  It took about an hour.  I might as well been drinking with the instructions they gave.  It’s together and only one part left over.  His and hers.  I wonder if they both will fit.   The one on the right is Bob’s chair like in Bob Tiffin.  It’s a campfire story.

 

Then I did what?  This was after I did the dishes, clean the cat litter box, took out the garbage (again), did the laundry – two loads (that’s woman talk for I threw clothes in twice), picked up the mail (no bills or they didn’t make it back), made ice tea (strong) and even did a little vacuuming.  I gotta go take a nap.  That only lasted about 10 minutes when AMAZON called me.  They wanted to know why we weren't going to work for them.  After I told her she was probably thinking thank goodness their not coming!  Especially when I said I wanted her job.  I  don’t think I burnt that bridge but I think it’s on fire.  Yes, we are not going to Amazon to work.  So we are buying a new rig, not going to work and going to Alaska next year.   I figure we will run out of money somewhere around Chicken, Alaska and will have to wash RV’s there for money.  OR we can pan handle.  We’re PO Folks.  Hey, Everyday’s An Adventure.

The barn’s floor was covered with stuff that came out of the beast.  Only a few things left now. 

We always parked the RV in the wide open space up front.  This time I parked behind the mobile because I can.  It don’t get all the sun on the backside site.  50 AMP FHU of course.

The boys are standing guard.

I know where a fox hides nearby.  It might be it’s den.  It’s an ugly looking thing.  No wonder.  Look what’s its been eating.

The other day I ran over our portable step with the car.  You know, the car with the back up camera.  I need a forward camera.  Where’s Ed when I need him?  He can weld anything.

Dinner… ate out with Lisa & Jim at a local Mexican restaurant.   It was great both in conversation and food.   I had something called Donkey.  I would get it again for sure.

Opinions, Onions & Poison

I have readers who think I shouldn’t go back to Lazydays and Winnebago.  Well, why go to another dealer/manufacture that could/will do the same thing no matter what you tell them you have been thru previously.  They will be in disbelief and shake their heads and say, “Not us!”  Like what Judge Judy says about teenagers, “if their lips are moving their lying.”  I know how Lazydays is and they know what to expect from me.  They’re in the show me phase now.  If they want an opportunity to correct it, why not.  It only costs us time and fuel money.  Florida could be better in October anyhow if it don’t work out again.  Winnebago management – they know my name and what I expect or they wouldn’t have given me a call.  I know they can do better and we will give them another chance.  Why go take a blind test with another dealer/manufacture.  Besides, I like being right as most of us do.  They’re are always a few that rather go get screwed by another dealer/manufacture.  Takes all kinds as they say.

Anyhow……I got some good stuff from Lowe’s called Ortho Ground Clear.  It says to wear gloves, goggles and all that hazard duty stuff.  What caught my attention was that it said to take a shower and wash your clothes after using.  It’s Sunday time for a shower anyhow so I used the stuff.  It took me about 30 seconds to spill on my hand while filling the yard sprayer container.  I rushed and washed the stuff off.  Yepper…later my hand swelled and got real red.  Hey, this is great stuff.  I sprayed weeds and anyplace I didn’t want to grow.  Within 1 minute of emptying the bottle I was in the shower checking to see if anything else swelled up.  Nope, same ole, same ole, still……..

The Beast had a scratch on it so I thought I would remove.  It’s still our rig.  I used Turtle’s scratch remover.  It didn’t remove the scratch but the area all around it really shines.  I think it now says, “HERE’S THE SCRATCH.”

Oh, for breakfast I had onions.  Since the woman of the house isn’t here and it’s now a man cave, it’s time to cook onions.  I took three large onions, some butter I think it was and some cilantro.  Why cilantro?  Because it was next to the stove is all I can say.  That was a good breakfast.

Then later I thru in a hunk of meat in the same pan.  The pan still had the butter from the onions.   After an hour the meat shrunk. I will add some more water and cook it longer and see what happens.

Look what happened 6 hours later.  It turned into a meal.

Not bad…..Lisa & Jim stopped over.  So I had guinea pigs.  It wasn’t spicy at all.  They left walking so it wasn’t too bad.

I took out the garbage.  So where’s the garbage can.

WHY

I slept in until 7:30 AM this morning (Saturday).  It’s been a very long time since I’ve done that.

WHY….. I’ve gotten A LOT of emails about why are we still going to deal with Lazydays and Winnebago.  Plus I  received the story about the people who where buying a Winnebago 42’ Tour and had all sorts of problems with it.  They really have gotten their story out there.  What’s interesting is it’s the only one story so far.  That is great but it is only one story.  People who get the word out like that make it easier for us and hopefully a better product for all of us.  Ours should be going on the assembly line soon and maybe their poorly made Winnebago will help in the making of ours.  If not, we don’t take it.  It’s that simple.  WHY Lazydays again.  I talked to their new CEO/President, Tim Sheehan, and I think he got an eye opener with our attempt to purchase concerning their people not doing their job of prepping a coach for delivery.  I really think things have changed already.  Time will tell in October.  Bottom line, we walk away and keep the Beast – no problem!

Those that have sent me the Winnebago 42’ Tour story, Thanks but I have enough copies now….wow do have a lot of them!

The Beast is getting loaded slowly and not with all of our stuff.  We figure we will load about 75% of our stuff into the Beast to put into the new one after delivery.  Easy switch over and don’t have to figure where everything goes all at once.  We basically already know what we will down size to and that is the 75% we are loading.  We ain’t but a whole lot into the Beast.  Last time we didn’t really put anything in the Beast.

The living room in the mobile is almost presentable.  All I had to do was move my junk back into the Beast.

I went over to Sue & Jon’s for dinner.  We had chili stew on rice.  It was pretty good.  We sat around and talked about everything to include a route to Alaska for them.

Decision Day

Well, up and about again before the sun came up.  Went for my walk around the block.  Breakfast – egg & pepper cheese sandwich.  Then it was off to the garage to straighten up/organize some more.  Then it was time to cut some more grass (weeds).  Might as well take the three bags of garbage to the dump.  Not yet.  It costs a dollar a bag (big) to dump at the refuse place.  Hey, I sound like a non RVer with all this '”normal”  things like cutting the grass, working in the garage and going to the dump.  Think I will go set in the RV so I can pretend that I’m still RVing.

I woke up some people yesterday like Lazydays & Winnebago,  I was in one of those “WHY” moods.  They’re the ones that are or have or want to interfere with my piece of my RVing mind.  I just want them to be accountable for their lack of concern/actions about RVers in general and us at the moment.  They’ve pushed my button now I’m kinda pushing theirs.  It appears they are not use to that enough by us RVers.  Lets revolt!

Friday afternoon I got THE phone call from Lazydays.  They previously asked what would it take for another deal.  They accepted our deal on the rig we originally ordered in July.  They gave us everything we asked for which included a 7 year extended coverage with zero deductible, a few more options and another $2,500 off.  Then Winnebago called us and verified it along with the extra options.  I was told that it’s been flagged for the assembly line “special care.”  Shouldn’t they all be built that way!  Delivery about 3 October.

So, other than that, not much happening.

Oh, we won’t be going to Amazon to work.  Not because of the new rig but because they need to handle newbes differently that we were handled.  I didn’t care for what was happening the last month or so.  They wouldn’t give us a start date until what turned out to be thirty days out and it was in very early September vice October with no warning or asking.  Then they wanted us to contact some other big contracted company and give our personal info to that in turns sub contracts our personal info to another company…. STOP.  The end.

Weeds, Toilets and Stuff

I was up and walked around the block at 5:30 AM in the dark.  It was only 73 degrees out.  A front came in last night and cool this area down.

I hooked up the Jeep to the Beast and went to West RV for the Beast’s 8 AM appointment.  No problem in dropping it off.

Then I went to Walmart to return some stuff and get more stuff.  Had breakfast at Mickey D’s.

Got back to the lot and decide to cut some the weeds around where the RV is parked.  No gas in the mower which nowadays is probably good.  They had junk to the gas and it can cause engine problems if it sets too long.  All my gas containers were empty too.  Time to head for the gas station as soon as I get one of those safety caps off the dog on thing.  Got the gas and tried to fill up the mower.  Again, safety nozzle on the gas can.  I poured more gas on the mower than in it I think.  Real safe.  I cut the weeds down and then it was lunch time.  I went down to the littl Mexican cafe down the road.  Met the gang there and we fixed all the local problems.

After that I stopped to get the Beast.  $230 some dollars later I departed and returned to the lot.  I drove in the back way of our lot.  That was interesting by myself.  The Beast nor the Jeep fell in the ditch while I was making the sharp 90 degree turn.

My work outside yard work is done for today.  No need to rush it.  The weeds will just grow back anyhow.  This is for my honey….

OK girls, here’s how guys live.  We fall in ever once in awhile.

Tonight I had 4 minute noodles with left over Popeye’s chicken pieces in it.  Ohhhhh so good.

Toilet Seat Is Up & Standing By!

Carol had an uneventful take off from here and landing in Baltimore.  Yes, that was via an airplane.  The toilet seat is up and the clothes will be on the floor soon.  Where’s those dog on paper plates?

I checked the six 6 volt batteries in the Beast.  They where needing some water so added the distilled water and cleaned them up.  Looking good.

Next is to put together some Euro chairs we got for Beast while departing Lazydays.  We got a big 10% off and took it.  Now how do I put the first one together?  Ahhhhh, I'll do it another day.

For dinner I went to Church’s Fried Chicken and got their Shrimp Box.  It sucked. 

Stayed up late & snacked and went to bed.

102 Degrees

At 4:30 PM here in Livingston our outside temperature in the shade was 102 degrees AND it is humid.

This morning we went to our Dr (60 miles) for our annual check up and get new prescriptions.  No problems, blood work pending.

Then we went to the Social Security Administration in Conroe.  What a zoo!  Carol checked on her pending SS and found out she didn’t complete the application on line.  She did it there using their computer and all is well – again.

We got back to the lot about 1:30 PM or so.  It’s hot in the mobile.  The temperature is set at 75 but it’s over 80 degrees inside.

This is not RV stuff but we are kinda stranded until we leave in September.

Carol goes on a 3 week vacation tomorrow afternoon.  Here I come Whataburger &  Popeyes……..and the toilet seat stays UP!

Loosey Goosey Gang Update

If you wanted to go to Alaska in 2014 as part of the Loosey Goosey Group and haven’t received any emails addressed to the Loosey Goosey Group in the last couple of months, then I don’t have your name.  This is very possible since some wanabees we were suppose to meet at the Escapade and a few other places didn’t happen.  Life threw us some curve balls and I think I have lost some names.  So, email us and we will try again to get you up to date information.

Fuel here in Livingston has gone down to about where it was when we were here in 2012 and 2011.  That’s about $3.59 a gallon.  Glad it’s coming back down but it’s slow.  Usually it starts going down after Memorial Day but this year it didn’t.  Now I saw on TV that it’s expected to be going down even after Labor Day.  AND next year is suppose to be the lowest in 3 years.  Good because that’s when we head for Alaska, 

We will be heading for Fernley, NV mid September to work for Amazon.  It’s about 1,900 miles and we will do it in about 6 days.  We want to stay in Livingston as long as possible so Carol can finish loading up the Beast when she returns from Baltimore September 4th.  OR maybe it’s because she can get more line dancing in.   She gave me some honey poos I mean honey do’s to get done.  I will move into the Beast shortly after it returns from the repair shop.  It’s home and that’s where I’m most comfortable.  The mobile does have more room but it’s not home.

NASCAR Duty

I was on NASCAR TV watch for most of the day.  I went out to the Barn ever so often to go thru and straighten stuff up.  I’m still missing a few parts that I will install when I find them.  It’s pretty muggy out so I didn’t stay outside too long.

Carol got my my favorite chicken for lunch – Popeye's.  She got me the eight piece and I ate 7 of them.  It was good……
