The “Look”

I took the 2600 PSI pressure washer back to Lowe’s and got a 3000 PSI.  Hey, I want it to do the job.  It’s a guy thing, ask any guy………

Here I am teaching my daughter how to use the pressure washer and I got “the look”.  As parents we all have gotten “the look”.

Here she is having fun killing part of a bird bath.

Now I have gone up on the porch to sip a beer in the shade while she has fun (work).  Tomorrow the RV? I feel like Tom Sawyer – ain’t it great!

The workers on the shed were told by their boss, Thomas Flores, that they are done on the shed.  To call it shabby work would be giving it credit.  I think this will end up in court and me trashing Flores Construction as much as I can here in Rainbow’s End Park.

Wish Comes True

Here’s the pressure washer.  I’m gonna take it back and get a little more powerful one. It’s a guy thing..

Here’s the table that Jeff worked on and painted my color of fluorescent orange. 

Then I remembered, Carol said that she wished that that she could find the new car in a parking lot easier because it blended in with all the others.  So, I took the orange spray can and painted a dot on the hood.  Yes, I did. Yes I did really.  Oh yea. Now that I think about it, since you pull forward into a parking space maybe I should have done it on the rear of the car.  Maybe tomorrow. 

Remember, be careful what you wish for, you just might get it.

Another Play Toy

I got a Troy Built 2600 PSI power washer recentily. Today I got to figure out how it works and what not to do with a power washer.  It was pretty simple to put together so that was nice.  I got it up and running on the first pull on the Honda motor and now what to wash.  The golf cart.  It cleaned that mold right off the canvas.  Then I thought I would used the maximum spray tip to get the tuff spots.  I used it for about 10 seconds.  It made some tears in the canvas so that was not the right tip and went back to the medium tip.  The golf cart cleaned up real good.  I felt like a loose cannon stalking for other things to shoot.  Next was the rusty metal umbrella table.  My son in law has been sanding on it for a couple of hours. The power washer (medium tip) didn’t do as good as the sanding but it’s sure a lot cleaner.  Tomorrow I will get the moldy LP lot tank.  Then I will do the RV from top to bottom especially the top.  Maybe the wheels will get a little moe shine (yes moe shine) to them.

Pick Up & Move It Day

We left the Lot and went to pick up our daughter and her new husband down in Houston.  They flew in from San Diego.  A few trips around the airport and we finally caught up with them.  Airport security won’t let you park and wait for passengers.  You have to drive around the airport until they are standing on the curb.

But earlier that morning are new neighbors arrived, kinda.  Their house arrived and was moved in. It’s a two piece Lincoln log type thing.  They moved it in the spot with a remote control baby dozer.  It was neat.  Hey kids, keep playing with those remote control games – you do have a job in the future with them.

Here’s the guy walking the back side of the house in between those trees.  Our place is to the right behind those trees.

Here’s are mini barn with the workers.  Two hard workers with no supervision or guidance. I’m not going there.  My blood pressure is very high.

The left lower wall is painted Carol’s poo poo brown. Hey, that’s what she wanted and that’s what she got.  She’s happy so I’m happy!

We ended up taking the kids and Mom Hill to Florida's for dinner.  Jeff, our new son in law, really loves their catfish.  He couldn’t eat the complete meal but he sure did put a dent in it.

Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday

Well, the construction workers didn’t show Tuesday, nor Wednesday.  I was hot.  It would not have been a good time to write anything in the blog due to my own censorship.  They are back at work Thursday minus one – the crew leader. I think the worker bees work ethics are a lot better or they want some more Italian hamburgers.

Most everything is in the chicken coup either upstairs or down.  Still have “stuff” on the porch and inside the mobile.

I washed both cars Wednesday. It poured that night.  So the next morning I washed and dried them both again.  Bruce flew down from MI to pick up our little Honda Element.  It found a new home behind a Prevost.  I am sure it will be happy behind that.  It will me missed but not forgotten – a great little fun car. We’re glad it went to a fellow RVer than some old car dealer that doesn't even know how to spell RV.

See all this crap on the ground in front of the chicken coup.  I got tired of walking around it especially when there were no workers.  So I moved it all piece by piece and it took about two hours.  I work slow but constant.

Italian Hamburgers

I figured I would feed the workers lunch today and MAYBE they would get a little more work done. WRONG!

Anyhow, I take 2 lbs of ground chuck, 1 lb of Italian sausage, one egg, garlic, pepper, salt, Habanero sauce, Denny’s Slap Ya Mama’ sauce, onions and mushrooms. Mix that together and cook on the grill.  Then put them on an over sized bun with some horseradish mayo.  Wow, my mouth is already watering or is that my stomach growling.

My gut is telling me tomorrow (Tuesday) isn’t going to be a good day or maybe it’s the hamburgers again.  They tasted sooooooooooooo good.  I think I will have one for breakfast.

You Saw What!

There are rumors going around saying I was doing manual hard labor with these tools. Rumors are hard to die.  Can you find the long legged rat in the picture?

See how the dirt is away from the side.  It was like this in the front also.  Then the Easter Bunny visited.

Someone (Beth Roberts) said that they saw me move the dirt and build a dirt ramp here in the front.  Boy is she mistaken.  She must have eaten to many chocolate eggs. I think she saw the Easter Bunny digging and moving the dirt – not me.  She should have taken pictures of that bunny. Either that or cut back on the meds or share.

Carol on the back porch.  Nice shoes…….  the flowers are OK too I guess.

The extra porch has been attached and it really looks good.  Party time……….This is the porch that was attached to Mom Hill’s trailer over at the CARE facility. Hey, we got blue tarp all over the yard and the golf cart has a flat.  Time to put it up on blocks.  Aren’t we looking good especially with a dishwasher up on the front porch too. Where’s that dear head I can hang up?  

           First thought - a diaper with a full load.

          I live in a haze and this is what I see.

This is one happy cat.  She found the smell of a dead snake. She laid like this for six days……..

What’s A Mariner

First here’s Carol and her garden with the cat.

Here’s mine with the skunk.  She takes care of mine too.

Here is a Mariner.  Size wise it’s pretty close to the Honda CR-V.  Weight is about 3,600 lbs for this the Hybrid.

It’s a little tight to get into the back back I don’t ride back there.

Yes, independent DVD players with wireless headsets and remotes. Maybe I will ride back here.

Plenty of storage area back here.

We went with Demco tow “stuff” vice Blue Ox which I’m experiencing bad service with at the time.  I like how they hide the base plate and have covers for the things that stick out.

The side mirrors have convex mirrors which are well over due.  Nice safety gizmo.

The front dash area has a bunch of voice activated systems such as navigation/mapping, back up camera/Sirius radio, phone system, plus it has a USB port, 110V outlet, IPod plug, 12V socket, dual AC’s (him/her), heated seats, ambiance lighting (about 6 controlled different interior colors), Hybrid monitoring system, and few other “things”. It has more do dads that our motorhome by a long shot.  Get this – it can parallel park itself – really.

 

Here’s Wayne and Beth enjoying the company of their neighbors.  Carol & I took turns visiting.  They couldn’t handle us together.

Yes this is a electrical box in the mobile.  Why is it apart?  Because on the hottest day so far (82) the AC decided not to work.  Wayne came over and agreed with my findings – it isn’t working.

He said it’s in the unit.  So, it will have to go on my list for Monday along with the bank, car dealer, lawyer and Blue Ox.

The barn building was the typical slow today because the boss man wasn’t here.  Look’s like maybe Monday for a completion.  That’s past the promised last Wednesday, then Thursday, then Friday at the latest and now Saturday has passed and now they say Monday.  They’re quality of work is depreciating with time.  It’s becoming sad…..  Hey it looks good from a far……

Customer Relations On A Friday

Today was a pretty good dog on day.  Blue Ox called me today and they wanted to bend over backwards to help fix our Blue Ox True Center steering device.  Maybe it’s good customer service. Or, maybe it’s I sent the VP an email explaining the poor customer service I had the last several weeks. Or, maybe they realized that I give seminars on RV driving and usually speak very highly of their product.  It must be just good ole customer service is what I like to think.

The barn builders where here early and put in a real good 8 hours of labor today.  Maybe it’s because the owner of the company was here and literally sat down in a chair and watched them most of the day.  Or maybe they just wanted to work hard and earn a day’s pay. They will be back tomorrow to finish up.  I say only if they put in another real day’s labor for the paying customer.  Maybe it’s just good work ethics.

Went to the bank again.  They all know us now and say “Hi” when we come in.  It’s funny because you think of a bank being very prim, proper and quite.  When we walk in it’s like party time and they wave and say “Hi” kinda loud.  Or is that us doing that.  It brings smiles to all and “looks” from other customers.  Maybe it’s just good customer relations.

We went to the food market also.  They were out of shopping carts.  I went in and announced to god and country that they were out.  Wow, they announced on the loud speaker that so and so and so and so was needed immediately to go and collect them.  Then another 1 or 2 employees headed for the lot to collect them also.  It was like they really were concerned that a customer made a point and they wanted to fix it immediately.  No excuses, no time delay, just good ole concern about fixing something that was over looked.  Wow, a customer complained and the problem was resolved immediately. 

It gets even better.  The Lincoln Mercury dealer returned my call and said they would arrange to have the new door ding in our brand new car repaired at their facility next week at our convenience – no cost.

I then went to the Escapees mail service window to pick up our mail.  They ALWAYS give polite and quick service.  We got a check refund from an insurance policy that we cancelled only a few days ago.  That is customer service…….

WOW, is the world changing to help the customer or?

Same Construction Crap Today

On a good note I like my new Demco Tow Bar and car base plate.  The Tow Bar is the top of the line Demco and it looks and operates like it is.  It’s easy to handle, the cables run with the bars as does the electrical cord.  It’s not like the others in that every piece is independent of others.  The Demco Dominator works as one piece of equipment. I haven’t been able to hook up the motorhome to the car yet because of the on going construction – ops, there goes my blood pressure.

Yes, today is April Fool’s Day and I am one fool for putting up with this kind of work ethics.

Construction was to be all completed by this past Wednesday, then Thursday and now tomorrow morning (Friday).  No way in hell. After the construction crew took a 2 1/2 hour lunch today I had to say something about meeting their time obligations to the supervisor.  Gee, he took offense to that and said I was spying on him.  I live here!  He threaten to walk off the job.  Well, excuse me for expecting them to work during work hours specially since they are past their completion date. This was far from the first time of long breaks and early departures.  They have not put in one eight hour day of work since they started.  If they weren’t paid in full I would have lit a fire under their ass that would have made the devil himself squeal forgiveness.  They give the hard working construction workers a bad name for sure.

I expect early next week to be 100% done the construction.  You asked why did I pay them in full.  It had to be spent by 1 April for Medicaid purposes.  Believe me, I would never ever had paid anyone in advance.  The friggin federal  government (Medicaid) required it.

Oh, our brand new car now has a ding in the door from some uncaring person who does not respect other peoples property.  It’s getting time to leave………Carol & I both have got the itch now…usually it’s just me.
